| History of the Bridge |
|
|
| One should understand that this
area of the Mississippi is rich in history. This mile stretch of
the great river is the birthplace of Minneapolis, and people
have lived and died in this place along the river going back to
the late 1600's. Boom Island was home to a huge lumber operation
until the late 1890's when a catastrophic fire destroyed it. The
Wisconsin Central Railroad came into play during the late 1890's
and built a railroad hub on Boom Island at the turn of the
century, and constructed the bridge in 1901. In the mid 1900's
this area was in disrepair and became blighted, and crime
abounded. In the 1970's the City purchased the land and filled
in the river between Boom Island and the opposite shore to
create what is now Boom Island Park. |

| The Investigation |
|
|
| Our investigation began at 11:00pm.
There were no clouds and it was very dark. We arrived at the
bridge and immediately felt what we like to call an invisible
barrier, a presence was with us. We begin our EVP sessions and
shooting photographs. At several times throughout our
investigation we had personal experiences, however, they are
clearly not evidence. The photos showed some unexplainable "gook"
in the air, perhaps orbs, however, orbs are not ghosts; they are
simply indications of paranormal activity. We did get a couple
hits on our audio, a ghostly voice, and something that sounds
like a phantom train, but no clear evidence. |
|
|
| This was a preliminary investigation and we would follow up
with full investigations. |
